What board-ready findings look like.

The Assured Velocity standard is that findings should be presentable at board level without modification. Below is a representative example of the one-page board slide produced at the end of a Health Check engagement.

Note: The example below is illustrative, based on a composite of real engagement outputs. Names, figures, and specifics have been anonymised. The format and structure are representative of the standard Health Check output.

Critical

Manual reconciliation failures generating 2 days/month rework. Root cause unresolved for 14 months.
At risk
Reporting Data Quality
3 of 7 board KPIs sourced from unvalidated extracts. Finance and ops definitions misaligned.
At risk
Technology Programme
Platform decision pending. Evaluation criteria not aligned to workflow requirements. Budget exposure: £1.2m–£1.8m.
Stable
Finance Operations
Controls adequate. Month-end close within target. Capacity risk emerging at forecast scale.
Stable
People & Capability
Core team stable. Two key-person dependencies identified. Succession planning not formalised.
At risk
Programme Governance
No independent reporting line to board on technology programme status. Board relying on project team self-assessment.
  • Critical
Order-to-cash reconciliation failure root cause must be addressed before any platform decision is made. Current ERP data integrity issue fixable within 6–8 weeks at low cost; platform replacement unlikely to resolve without prior fix.
Owner: CFO · Timeline: 6 weeks · Est. cost: £12k–£18k
  • High
Board KPI data sources require validation audit. 3 of 7 metrics are sourced from unvalidated extracts; board is making decisions on figures that have not been reconciled to source systems.
Owner: Finance Director · Timeline: 4 weeks · Est. effort: 3 days
  • High
Technology platform evaluation to be paused and restarted with independent evaluation criteria aligned to actual workflow requirements. Current shortlist based on feature checklist only; fit-gap analysis against order-to-cash and billing processes not completed.
Owner: CFO + CTO · Timeline: Platform decision deferred 8 weeks
  • Medium
Programme governance structure to be established with independent reporting to board prior to any platform commitment. Board should not rely on project team self-assessment for a programme of this scale.
Owner: CEO · Timeline: Prior to next board meeting
What to notice

Every finding has a named owner, a timeline, and where applicable a cost estimate. The board can act on this immediately - there is no follow-up deck required to translate findings into decisions. The RAG summary gives a one-glance view of priority; the findings table gives the detail. This is the standard Health Check one-page board output.

What comes with it

The one-page board slide is accompanied by a 3–5 page snapshot report with supporting detail, process maps showing where drag lives (L0–L1 level), a constrained priority list, and a light 12–18 month improvement roadmap. All produced within 14 calendar days of engagement start.

All engagements are led by senior practitioners - not junior teams.
